Bill Murray sings and reads American classics from his 2017 album “New Worlds,” accompanied by a classical trio, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 23, at Portland’s Merrill Auditorium. The album was created with the help of Jan Vogler, third from left, a German cellist, and Murray’s creative partner on the project, after a chance meeting between Murray and Vogler on an airplane. Along with Murray on vocals and narration and Vogler on cello, the “New Worlds” ensemble features Vanessa Perez on piano, far left, and Mira Wang on violin. Tickets, priced at $283, $143, $73 and $58, are available at boxoffice.porttix.com.
