LEWISTON – Felicia Gammon of Auburn and Connie Doucette of Lewiston are the May artists having their work on exhibit at the Central Maine Medical Center Rotating Art Gallery.

Gammon has been taking photographs since age 13 when she was given her first camera. She is mostly self-taught but has read many books on photography and has taken a class.

Gammon said reading the camera manuals has proven to be the most educational and helpful to her. She and her husband, Rick, have two sons, Aaron and Tyler, and have lived in Auburn for more than 30 years. They work together in the family business. Her works have been on display at the Turner Center for Art and more recently at Auburn Hall.

Doucette is a self-taught photographer and has been taking photos for more than 35 years. She was born and raised in Lewiston and is a career banker and part-time musician.

Doucette said, “I have a serious passion for photography, which has become my main hobby and pastime. Years ago, I was only interested in taking family photos (and have plenty) but recently, my interest turned to shooting photos of lighthouses, hot air balloons and other outdoor nature scenes. I use a standard 35mm Canon Rebel G11 camera for most of my picture-taking, even though I use a digital camera now and then.”

The art gallery is sponsored by the Woman’s Hospital Association, which supports the hospital and its patients by raising funds for special projects. For more information on the gallery, call the gift shop at 795-2295 or Kathleen Cormier at 346-3462.
