Students from seven surrounding high schools participated in a DAR Good Citizen Program scholarship contest, sponsored by Colonial Daughters Chapter. One senior from each high school was selected for her/his outstanding character, dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. The winning essay, written by Hannah James on “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It,” will go on to a state level competition.
