Fiddlers’ show

FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Fiddlers will present a show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Nordica Auditorium, UMF.

Cost is adults, $7; senior citizens and age 15 and under, $6. There will be no advance ticket sales. For more information, call 645-2157.

Annual service

STRONG – Strong United Methodist Church will be the host church for the annual Good Friday community worship service. Other churches participating include the Strong Church of the Nazarene and Living Waters Assembly of God.

The Rev. John Evan will bring a special message for Good Friday, April 6. All three churches will provide special music along with the hymns sung by the congregation. Following the 7 p.m. worship service, the United Methodist Women will serve refreshments.

Open houses

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Children’s School will host three open houses on the following Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon: April 7 and April 28 and May 5.

The school is a private grades kindergarten through grade eight nonprofit, school inspired by the philosophy of Maria Montessori. It is located in the new annex to the Old South Church, Main Street.

Kindergarten children are welcome to sign up for the fall. For more information, contact Julianna Acheson at 645-9773.

Grange open day

NORTH JAY – In observance of National Grange Month, the North Jay Grange will hold its open day program on Saturday, April 7, to which the public is invited.

There will be a potluck dinner at noon and the program at 1 p.m. Entertainment will be by local musician Alan Hutchinson, who plays the keyboard and sings.

There will be a raffle and door prize drawings as well as a pie auction to benefit the ongoing fundraiser. For more information or to donate a pie, call Mavis Lane at 645-4628 or Marilyn Morse at 645-2910.

Benefit supper

MADISON – There will be a benefit potluck supper for Allison Bowring, who has pancreatic cancer, given by family and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at the VFW on Preble Avenue.

Funds will help to pay for transportation to and from treatments and doctor’s visits in Scarborough and Portland. Tickets are $5 for adults; free, children under 5. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

There will be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. For more information, contact Pauline at 696-0872.
