NORWAY – Healthy Oxford Hills, Community Concepts and River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition invites residents to be a part of a substance abuse task force. As part of Maine’s Strategic Prevention framework program, Oxford County has been asked to develop a countywide prevention plan to address the risks and consequences of substance abuse.
The group is in the process of presenting the countywide substance abuse needs assessment to communities. It also needs to develop a strategic plan and has organized meetings for Mondays, April 2, 9, 23 and 30 and May 10. The first session was held March 19.
The meetings will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the community room at the Norway Town Office and lunch will be served.
Members are asking for input on how to best direct Oxford County efforts in the implementation of the strategic plan against substance abuse.
