MECHANIC FALLS – Steven Goss, a junior at Poland Regional High School, was named Student of the Month in March by the Tri-Town Optimists of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland.

His principal, Bill Doughty, praised Goss, an Eagle Scout, for his leadership at school and for his involvement in church activities. “Steven is one of the reasons I feel so optimistic about kids,” Doughty said.

The Tri-Town Optimist Club is affiliated with Optimist International, one of the world’s largest and most active service club organizations. The club works on projects to benefit area youth and the community.
