WILTON – Senior citizens and others who do not customarily file income tax returns can get a one-time refund of from $30 to $60 this year for filing a simple form.
SeniorsPlus will host volunteers from Western Maine Community Action to help fill out a 1040EZ-T from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23. Help will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Anyone who had a phone and paid taxes on their long-distance calls from 2003 to 2006 is eligible for a refund for overpayment.
Those who agree to the standard refund will not need additional documentation, but those who are requesting for them and their spouse must both sign.
Those who are filing income tax can request the refund with the regular filing.
