BETHEL – A special film on the history of ski clubs and winter carnivals, focusing on Pineland in Andover and Chisholm in Rumford, was featured at the 33rd annual Bethel Historical Society Heritage Day on Feb. 17 at the society’s regional history center.

This film was produced by society life member John G. Howe of Gettysburg, Pa., who was a ski jumper growing up in Bethel and a member of the Gould Academy ski team.

At the Dr. Moses Mason House, special tours of the museum were conducted by Steve Seames and Kathy Kunkel. At the O’Neil Robinson House, there were exhibits, and craft demonstrations by Jane Peterson, weaving, and Grace McKivergan. An exhibit of mineral specimens on loan from Jim and Anne Mann and Larry T.P. Stifler and Mary McFadden was on display.
