Youth concert
WILTON – A youth musician concert to benefit the Wilton Food Pantry will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at First Congregational Church, Main Street.
Performers will include the Franklin County Fiddlers, Middle School Show Choir, Mt. Blue Jazz Band and the Syncopations.
Admission will be by donation of any amount. Refreshments will be available. All are welcome.
Sunday message
FARMINGTON – The focus of Pastor Susan Crane’s message will be “The Lord is a God of Abundance, Not Scarcity” during the worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, Academy Street. The congregation invites the public to join them.
Meeting reset
FARMINGTON – The regularly scheduled board meeting of the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District was canceled and rescheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16. The meeting is open to the public. All board members who do not plan to attend are asked to let the office know that they can not make the meeting.
Square dance
WILTON – The Friendship Squares Square Dance Club will hold a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Cushing School. Caller will be Lee Kennedy and cuer will be Carol Stewart.
School supper
PHILLIPS – Homemade baked beans will be featured at a supper to be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Phillips Elementary School. The menu will include hot dogs, beans, rolls, coleslaw, beverage and gingerbread. Cost is adults, $6, and children under 12, $4. The supper is put on by the Shared Ministry. King service
FARMINGTON – The Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry will sponsor a Martin Luther King Jr. Day service at noon Monday, Jan. 15, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church.
Each year the service focuses on one aspect of Dr. King’s work and concern. This year the focus is on educational opportunity, and the speaker will be the Rev. Doug Dunlap, pastor of the First Congregational Church, Wilton, long-time professor at UMF, and a leader in the movement to bring community college services to Franklin County.
As part of the service, an offering to be used for scholarships for community college education will be taken. The service will be over by 1 p.m. and the public is invited.
