NORWAY – The Daughters of Union Veterans, Civil War Tent 19, met at the home of Joyce and Arthur Gouin on Dec. 14 with nine members and a guest present.

The slate of new officers were sworn in, and Christmas stockings were filled for three shut-in members.

It was reported that members filled 385 Christmas stockings, which will go to service men and women in the 121st F.A. Btn., 170th Infantry, 240th Engn. Group and to a special platoon. Some will go to other units with Maine connections. Members will also send Christmas party makings to a medical unit based in Maine.

President Gail Butterfield thanked Tent 19 for helping to install a new member for Tent 8.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the home of Lynn Cummings Pike in Oxford. A meeting will be at the home of Marilyn Jones in Norway on Feb. 28 and at the home of Eleanor Smith in Oxford on March 28.
