RUMFORD – A support group for parents grieving for their sons or daughters who have died has been organized by Juiliana Collins, LCSW, of Swift River Health Care Counseling Services.

Collins lost her son in an accident in 2002 and realized there are other parents in the area with similar needs for support.

“This is not a professionally led group, but an informal peer support group,” said Collins. “The only people present are people who have experienced the loss of a son or daughter.”

The group meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the third Thursday of the month at Swift River Counseling, 209 Lincoln Ave. All parents of sons or daughters who have died are welcome.
