Rumford Hospital employees rally for annual appeal
RUMFORD – Rumford Hospital employees pledged more than $2,600 in payroll deduction gifts to the 2006-2007 Annual Appeal at an hourlong appeal kickoff on Dec. 1. Other employees, board members and members of the Development Committee gave $1,800 in checks and credit cards the same morning.
“It’s great to see so many employees supporting our hospital,” said Rumford Hospital Board Chairman Jolan Ippolito. “I think, seeing these employees’ enthusiasm, spurs the public to give, too.”
Ippolito welcomed visitors at the kickoff event, as did employee Development Committee members Becky Hall and Gale Glover Hill.
In the two weeks since the first appeal letters of the year were mailed, donations total more than $14,000 toward a goal of $60,000.
“We’ve seen a very strong early response this year,” said Ippolito.
