Laugh workshop

BETHEL – “Learn how laughter can benefit your well being and be a fun way to stay healthy,” said Carol Emery, MS, certified laughter leader, who will present a workshop titled “The Power of Laughter” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Crescent Park School.

The workshop is part of the fall “To Your Health” series sponsored by Western Mountains Senior College and SAD 44 Adult Education, in collaboration with the Bethel Family Health Center, as a community service. Class meeting

Event canceled

DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Coffee House planned for Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Dixfield Congregational Church Annex has been canceled due to sickness.

Holiday pie sale

MEXICO – Friends of the Mexico Rec Park will hold a Thanksgiving pie sale. All pies must be ordered and paid for by Friday, Nov. 17, and be picked up Wednesday, Nov. 22. The pies will cost $10 and will be made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Pies available include apple, pumpkin, custard, pecan, mincemeat, coconut cream, chocolate cream with graham cracker crust or pastry crust.

The group will also hold a craft fair on Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Mexico Town Hall. Eight-foot tables are available for area crafters to rent for $20 a table. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Mexico Rec Park.

Society program

CARTHAGE – The Carthage Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21. Following a potluck supper, Paul Taitt of Magic Touch Images on Main Street, Wilton, will show how he restores old faded and damaged photos. He also prints photos on T-shirts, mouse pads and coffee mugs. All are welcome and each may bring a photo they would like to have restored or copied.
