RUMFORD – The Children’s Room of Rumford Public Library has been humming with activity, with the third week of the library’s Summer Fest program coming up.

On Monday, July 17, the activity will be “Let’s Make Memory Frames” with Lynn Frost and Marie Tanguay, teachers at Rumford Elementary School. Children will decorate a small frame in which to put a picture of one of their favorite summer memories.

Louanne Thibodeau and gymnasts she coaches will be at the library on Tuesday, July 18, for “Tumbling Fun.” Children should wear comfortable clothing, suitable for the program.

On Wednesday, July 19, Alan Tacheny will bring “The Charlie Who Show” to the library. Charlie Who is a clown who is adept at juggling, mime, sleight of hand and comedy. Tacheny, a professional entertainer, is also a teacher at Meroby Elementary School.

Thursday, July 20, will be “Fun Day,” when volunteers create a fun-filled time for the youngsters with face painting, games and refreshments.

The mother-daughter duo of Kim and Addy Fuller will visit at noon Friday, July 21, for the “Wabanaki Animal Legends” Picnic in the Park. They have chosen several tales from the lore of the Wabanaki Indians, who lived in Maine, to share.

Area children and their friends are invited to the free Summer Fest events. With the exception of the Friday noon picnics, all programs are at 3 p.m. and last approximately an hour. Parents are welcome.
