DIXFIELD – The Dixfield-Dirigo Alumni Association held its annual alumni banquet on June 17 at the T.W. Kelley Middle School with 108 members and guests attending the potluck supper.
The association honored the 40-year class (1966) and the 50-year class (1956). The class of 1956 had eight members and guests attending and the class of 1966 had 12 members and guests. Also attending was former teacher Nat Weston.
President Betty Swan had asked members to take the office of president, vice president and treasurer. Frances Carlton is retiring after 18 years. The secretary is keeping her office. If no one comes forward, the alumni may have to disband, Swan said.
This year, members traveled from California, Missouri, Indiana, Florida, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
The secretary asked everyone to send her current addresses of all family members who attended Dixfield High School and year of graduation. She is putting together a directory for the Ludden Library.
Jon Holmes presented gift certificates to Frances Carlton for her 18 years as treasurer and to Eileen and Joyce Worster for their 12 years as kitchen workers at the banquet. Mrs. Nat Weston won the 50/50.
