LEWISTON – HealthSteps is accepting registrations for its summer fitness classes. It offers a variety of workout options to meet the needs of many fitness levels and interests.
The following programs will run from July 10 through Aug. 25 at Merrill Gym on the Bates College campus unless otherwise noted.
Lap Swim: swim laps in the 25-meter, eight-lane pool supervised by a certified lifeguard. Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:05 to 7:30 a.m., Fridays from 6:05 to 7:15 a.m.
Walk/Jog: walk or jog followed by strengthening and flexibility exercises. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:05 to 6:55 a.m.
Aquatic Fitness: one should feel comfortable in deep and shallow water before joining the class. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m.
Step Aerobics: the low-impact step aerobics class is high-energy. Mondays from 7 to 7:45 a.m.
Dance Aerobics: everything from country line dancing to Latin dancing, Motown to disco. Wednesdays from 7 to 7:45 a.m.
Time to Stretch: the class will go through a full body stretch for relaxation, peace of mind and an increase in flexibility. Fridays from 7 to 7:30 a.m.
Tone-n-Tighten: strengthen major muscle groups in the class using weights, resistance tubes and bands. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m.
Balance Ball Blast for Strength: total body strengthening class. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Lepage Large Conference Room, 99 Campus Ave. Classes run from 7:15 to 8 a.m.
Abs and Stretch: 15 minutes of abdominal work followed by 20 minutes of stretching. Stay for one part or both. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Lepage Large Conference room, 99 Campus Ave. Classes run from 8:10 to 8:45 a.m.
