Lake association
WOODSTOCK – A Community Lakes Association meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Woodstock Town Office. All are welcome.
Museum is open
WOODSTOCK – The opening of the Woodstock Historical Society Museum early in June was successful. On June 10 members held a food sale organized by Ruth Cox with the assistance of Elaine Roberts.
At the subsequent meeting, it was decided to send items to a celebration in Gilead on Saturday, June 24. Vice President Annella Burnham chaired the session as President Olive Risko was at the alumni reunion.
The museum has additional furniture exhibits and new collectibles. Joyce Howe did some cleaning, and curator Larry Billings provided a new guest book and put out signs for the food sale.
100 and celebrating
OTISFIELD – Otisfield’s oldest resident, G. Howard Dyer, will celebrate his 100th birthday on Thursday, June 29. The community is invited to an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at the East Otisfield Community Hall to commemorate the milestone.
Donations sought
NORWAY – The Norway-Paris Fish and Game Association will hold a giant yard sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9, at the L. M. Longley warehouse on the Lake Road, just outside of downtown Norway.
Hunting, fishing and camping equipment will be on sale. Leon Truman, Marguerite Alberi and Bob Purington will be in charge.
The club is looking for donations of all types of items and will pick them up. Large appliances, such as refrigerators, freezers, stoves or washing machines and dryers, are too large to move by hand and will not be accepted. Clothing will also not be accepted. Those who have donations should contact Leon Truman at 743-5187.
