Fortier Chapter
LEWISTON – The Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52, Association Canado-Americaine, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 5, in the Senior Citizens Room of the Multi-Purpose Center. Reservations will be accepted for the annual banquet, to be held at noon Thursday, June 8, at Marco’s Restaurant. The group’s next meeting will be Sept. 11, as they go on hiatus for the summer.
Rebekah Lodge
AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, June 5, at the Odd Fellows Hall, 50 Elm St., for snacks and a social time. During the regular meeting beginning at 7 p.m., the lodge will hold first nomination of officers, a Flag Day program and a collection for the Diabetes Association.
The diabetes project was originated by Carmen Lovejoy in the year 2000 when she was president of the Rebekah Assembly. Every year since then the current Rebekah Assembly president has continued the project.
Seniors to meet
MONMOUTH – The Golden Years Club will meet at noon Wednesday, June 7, at the Packard Activity Center, United Church basement. Members are asked to bring only a sandwich, because salads, desserts and beverages will be furnished by volunteers. Proposed trips for the summer will be discussed after the luncheon.
Line dancing
LEWISTON – Partner and line dancing will be held at 7 p.m. Thursdays, June 8, 15, 22 and 29 at the Countryside Dancers, 191 Lisbon St. Entrance is on the fourth level of the Canal Street Garage.
Seniors lunch
AUBURN – The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Hasty Community Center. Members should bring a bag lunch. Tickets will be on sale for Italian sandwiches for the June 21 meeting. Bingo will be played after lunch.
A trip on July 11 to the Venezia Restaurant and Banquet Facility in Boston will be $66 a person, including luncheon, show and transportation. Contact Joyce Poole at 784-3429 or Doris Michael at 782-6962 for more information.
The May 17 meeting was presided over by President Caroline Chapman. There were 78 present. Birthdays in May were acknowledged. A memorial service was held for members who died during the last year, led by Lucy Cowles, Caroline Chapman, Pat Donahue and Audrey Fleming. Ralph Lashua played and sang “Beautiful Ilse of Somewhere.” Attendance winners were Rita Gagne and Norma Masse; pot of gold, Millie Brainerd, Joan Webb and Audrey Fleming.
