Scholarship applications open

AUBURN — Lamey Wellehan Maine Difference Scholarships, four-year $1,000 renewable awards, will be given to three Maine high school seniors to aid in attendance to a Maine college or university.

Students wishing to study areas with the goal of improving Maine’s economy and environment are invited to apply.

In 2014, when Lamey Wellehan celebrated its 100th anniversary, the company terminated plastic and paper point of sale packaging to slow effects on the environment. With the money saved, the firm has awarded scholarships and looks forward to hearing the stories and goals of this year’s Maine high school seniors.

Motivated students with the desire to improve the state are invited to send an application to the Maine Difference Scholarship. Applications are available through www.lwshoes.com or by email, info@lwshoes.com.
