LEWISTON – The Lewiston Maineiacs are offering the opportunity for hockey players to nominate their moms for the Best Hockey Mom – Mother’s Day contest.
On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14, a mom could win if players send an essay on why they think they have the Best Hockey Mom. A panel of Maineiacs representatives will read the entries and select the winner based on the following characteristics: dedication to the child’s hockey interests, sacrifices made to benefit the child and his/her hockey interests and uniqueness of story.
Contest winner will be awarded a $50 gift certificate for Plantasia Florals in Auburn, a spa package for Cassiel’s Day Spa in Lewiston and a $35 dinner gift certificate from the Ground Round in Auburn. The hockey player who sends in the winning essay will receive a prize package from the Maineiacs Fan Shop.
Entry deadline is Wednesday, May 10. The entry must include the submitter’s name and age, hockey team, mother’s name, address, phone number, e-mail address and an essay.
