LEWISTON – The Community Credit Union has donated $1,346.09 to the Sisters of Charity Food Pantry, 208 Bates St.
“This is a wonderful gift,” said pantry supervisor Joyce Gagnon. “For every dollar contributed to the pantry, we can provide $12.50 worth of food to our clients. That means this donation is worth $16,826 to our community.”
Employees and members of the Community Credit Union raise money year-round through various events to benefit the Ending Hunger in Maine program. The credit union determines where it would like to donate the funds. The money for the donation to Sisters of Charity Food Pantry was raised during 2005.
