Are you sick of listening to the same old music? Looking for a new artist to listen to? You may be interested in Emmy Rossum, who just released a new CD, Inside Out. She is not very well known, but I believe she is an up-and-coming artist, and her voice is simply beautiful. I first found out about her from the film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera. She played the lead, Christine Daae, and in my opinion, she was incredible. I’ve listened to quite a few songs from the new CD, and they are just as brilliant as ever.
“This music is who I am,” is what Emmy says about her album. All the singing is her own voice, not electronically made. There is a lot of layering of her voice, creating a different effect that is not often heard. She sings the parts that would be played by piano or guitar, and she tried to discover how much she could do without instruments. This is shown in many of the tracks, where there aren’t many instruments, and a lot of voice. I’ve found out from her website that all the songs have a story behind them, and all of them have meaning.
In a world of celebrity scandals, Emmy is one star worth respecting. She has a huge career in front of her, and with a voice as beautiful as her’s, she is sure to be successful.
