Sale, meeting

PHILLIPS – The Shared Ministry will hold a sale and annual meeting from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Community House. There will be household items, books and other treasures, plus homebaked foods. The Community House will be open for donations of sale items from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, April 27. Food donations may be brought before 9 a.m. Saturday.

Annual meeting

PHILLIPS – All members of either the UCC or UMC are asked to attend the annual meeting at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 30, at the Community House. A sandwich and salad lunch will be served. The Rev. David Gaewski from the UCC and the Rev. David Svensor from the UMC will attend. A decision on the buildings will be discussed and voted.

Monday Club

FARMINGTON – The Monday Club will meet Monday, May 1, at the Holman House next door to the Old South Congregational Church on Main Street.

There will be a spring tea party, and refreshments will be served by the hostesses, Libby Darlington, Marion Hutchinson, Vera Bergman and Margaret Ronald.

Members are reminded to make a contribution for their annual and only fundraising project, the auction.

Rummage sale

RANGELEY – A spring rummage sale, sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women, will be held in the church undercroft, Main Street, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 5, and 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 6.

There will be clothing for adult, teens and children, a specialties boutique and household goods. The proceeds will be used for community outreach and church needs.

Rabies clinic

SALEM – A rabies clinic will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Salem Fire Department. The charge will be $8 a pet. Vaccines will be given by the Clearwater Veterinary Hospital. One-year vaccines will be given unless the owner can bring proof of previous vaccine.

Tags and certificates will be given. It is being sponsored by the Salem Fire Department Auxiliary.

Car hop drive-in

KINGFIELD – An old-fashioned car hop drive-in will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19, at the Woodsman. The event is sponsored by “Friends and Family Ties” as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Foundation.

Along with hamburgers, cheeseburgers and fries, hot dogs, chili dogs, frappes and old-fashioned root beer floats, served car side, a live DJ will be present.

Classic cars will be on display and a 50/50 and raffles will be held.

The car show will include antique and classic cars, motorcycles, truck and four-wheelers. There is a $5 registration fee. For more information, call Diane at 265-2541 or 265-2561.
