NORWAY – Walkers, anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer, cancer survivors community leaders, team captains and workers are needed to plan the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Oxford, scheduled for June 2 and 3 at the Don Gouin Athletic Field.

The Volunteer Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at the Norway Town Office to continue making plans for the event.

Relay For Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society. It is an overnight event that mobilizes communities to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones and raise money for the fight against cancer.

Teams of eight to 15 members will gather with tents and sleeping bags that weekend. They will seek sponsorship prior to the relay.

Volunteers are needed to form teams, seek community support, coordinate logistics, find refreshments and prizes, plan entertainment and lend support. For more information about the Relay For Life of Oxford Hills or to volunteer, contact Tracey Frye at 743-7326 or Joelle Corey McDaniels at 743-5754.
