READFIELD – Maranacook Community School Adult Education will hold a session on Internet safety for teens from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the school.
The session will provide relevant and current information about Internet safety issues involving teens. Seth Blodgett of the Maine Attorney General’s Office will discuss Internet crimes in Maine that involved children and teens.
There will also be a discussion on Web bullying, instant messaging, blogs, online profiles and popular online journals.
Following the general session, there will be five breakout sessions: “Using Netsmartz,” online safety program for parents, kids and educators; “Understanding Your Computer,” how to check history, viruses, firewalls; “Exploring MySpace.com and How to Google”; “Talking to Teens about Internet Safety”; and “Questions for Law Enforcement.”
