FARMINGTON – Anyone in the market for a younger dog should come to the Franklin County Animal Shelter to meet a cute little tri-colored mix who goes by the name of “Chet.” Chet came to the shelter on Aug. 23 and no matter how hard he tries to impress adopters, he continues to be overlooked. Chet is still a baby, roughly six to eight months old, but is full grown, weighing in at 46 lbs. He loves to play with his toys, seems to enjoy having a K-9 playmate.
Chet is currently the second longest long-term resident of the dog room and the staff would love to see him find a home soon. He would fit nicely into a family environment where he would have lots of friends to spend time.
Even though it is late in the year, there are still litters of kittens arriving every day. The staff reminds everyone the importance of spaying and neutering and invites cat owners to make use of the shelter’s Spay/Neuter Assistance Program. Anyone interested in being a much needed foster parent for some of these newborn animals should contact the shelter.
New dogs at the shelter include: 8479 neutered male chihuahua brought in from Farmington, 8492 female black lab mix brought in from Farmington Falls with collar, 8497 female brindle puppy brought in from Jay, 8510 neutered male retriever mix brought in from Chesterville, 8512 male black and white mix (curly tail) brought in from Jay with collar, and 8514 male yellow lab mix puppy brought in from Farmington with collar.
