LEWISTON – The Rev. Douglas Taylor, ministry director of the Jesus Party Pentecostal Kids’ Church, and the ministry’s patriotic mentor, Jerry DerBoghosian, will commemorate the fourth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on American soil.
Children 5 years old and up are invited to attend this patriotic observance at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Jesus Party Headquarters at 291 Bates St., Lewiston.
The Glorybound Singers will perform Lee Greenwoods’ popular song entitled “God Bless the U.S.A.,” special solo by Danielle Taylor, “The Star Spangled Banner;” and her brother, Japheth, will sing “God Bless America.” All children will have the opportunity to sing along to patriotic hymns.
DerBoghosian will recite the Pledge of Allegiance, offer prayer for soldiers and their families and a comforting word of inspiration.
A video documentary will be shown that examines the tragic events of that day as well as the inspiring and heroic tributes that followed. All in attendance will witness real stories of real American heroes as well as listen to the thoughts and feelings of other young children. This special program was created with the guidance of a child psychologist to ensure its’ appropriateness for this young audience.
