LEWISTON – The Downtown Neighborhood Association will be hosting its seventh annual Back to School Party and Barbecue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, at Pierce Street Park.
School bags filled with school supplies will be given out so children in the neighborhood will have school supplies to start the first day of school. The association depends on donations and the kindness of others, and work hard to make this event possible each year, especially for the parents and children that depend on this event.
A computer donated by Empower Lewiston will be raffled off, and other prizes provided by sponsors will be given away.
The “Cookin’ Cops” from the Lewiston Police Athletic League will do all the grilling.
The association has made great strides in developing community and neighborhood leadership in downtown Lewiston. The annual events include the Winterfest Party, Twin City Parks Clean-up, Tenant Rights/Housing Forum and the Back to School Party.
Everyone is invited to attend to boost community spirit in the neighborhood.
