NORWAY – The 80th Ellingwood family reunion was held at the home of Jerry and Linda Ellingwood on the Harrison Road on Aug. 13.

Displays of family photos and memorabilia were presented along with the family newsletter and family cookbook, which was available for a small donation to cover costs.

A barbecue lunch was held, then the business meeting was called to order by President Jerry Ellingwood. Old business discussed included the time capsule. Items were collected from each family and placed in a plastic container. The container will be held for 10 years by Shirley Barnes and brought to the 2015 family reunion when it will be opened.

Al Atkinson stated he will make more progress on the family Internet site this year. He is looking for other sites to connect to. New business discussed included entertaining things for the older folks to enjoy. Boat rides were given for all who wished after the meeting.

Officers elected were: president, Jerry Ellingwood; vice president, Lee Ellingwood; secretary/treasurer, Bonnie Atkinson; and recreation directors, Julie Dyck and Melody Gammon.

The 81st family reunion will be held the second Saturday of August 2006 at the same location.

A few games of dodge the wet sponge were held and about four trips around the lake were given.

The youngest attending was Brittany Grippo, 5, from New York; oldest, Avis Ellingwood, 88, of South Paris; traveling the furthest, Stanley Ellingwood of Spokane, Wash.

A moment of silence was held for Ellis Ellingwood and Wayne Ellingwood, who died during the year. There were no births reported for this year.
