JAY – The Livermore Falls High School class of 1949 met for a 56-year reunion on July 16 at LaFleur’s Restaurant. Twenty-two classmates and 10 guests spent the time in conversation, and messages were read from others who were unable to attend.

Five classmates have died since last year’s reunion: Thomas L. Nichols, Beverly Jones Matthews, Valeria Walton Wood, Laurent Jacques and Norman Morin, making a total of 36.

Charles Chappell and his wife, Donna, from Naples, Fla., attended for the first time.

Others attending were Philip DeSotto of Tullahoma, Tenn., John and Edna McKenney of Portland, Effie Forbes Waite of Mexico, Suzanne Fournier Hedrick of Nobleboro, Laurette Laverdiere McCobb of Woolwich, Leah Flagg Virgin of Bowdoin, Celine Paradis Wells of Wilton, Romeo Langelier of Chesterville, Claire Wilkins Flagg of Fayette, Margaret Riggs Knight of Wayne.

Also, Bob and Winnie Cossette Shink, Henry DiSotto, “Zeke” and Annette Richards, all from Jay; Tom and Beverly Berry, “Sonny” and Alice Gosselin LaFreniere, all from Livermore; Norman and Bernice Bilodeau, Ronald and Arlene Jones, Ruth LaBrecque, Frank and Meredith Monk Dalessandro, Norman and Pauline Pare Duguay, Lorraine Richard Mercier, all of Livermore Falls.

As voted last year, reunions will be held annually, the next one being tentatively planned for July 15, 2006.
