LEWISTON – As a nonprofit organization, Classy Lady seeks grants to support its mission. Classy Lady was recently notified by the Maine Women’s Fund that its grant request would be filled. In the fall at a special ceremony, Classy Lady will receive a check in the amount of $3,930.
The Maine Women’s Fund is a community of individuals, businesses and funds that support economic, political and personal equality for Maine women and girls. Each year the fund raises money from the community and makes grants to qualified nonprofit organizations working to promote social change for women and girls in Maine.
The four priority areas for the organization are eliminating violence against women and girls, fostering self-esteem and self-determination for girls and women, promoting economic security for every woman in Maine and providing access to health information and health care services.
Classy Lady serves women entering the workforce or moving forward in the workforce by helping women gain the skills and confidence as they take that next step in reaching their employment goals. It offers a free mentoring services and discounted professional clothing.
