Team 82 at LMS developed a very special project the week before Thanksgiving break. The purpose of the project was not only for students to learn about their own heritage, but for all students to share knowledge about the different cultures we come from. Each student was to research their own country of origin and find facts about traditions that are followed in their country . The students were also encouraged to bring in a tasty traditional dish or a souvenir from their ancestral homes.

Friday, November 16 was the day the Cultural Thanksgiving was held. Posters, slideshows, foods, and many other interesting things were set on display in the classrooms. This allowed many different students to pass through and see the creative work and research that was done by each student. During the day each presenter was to stand by his/her project and do a brief presentation explaining their research. Many parents and staff from LMS joined the students in a celebration of diversity. Everyone was impressed by the many different interesting countries exhibited during this event. Featured nations included:Ireland, Somalia, Lithuania, Germany, France, Mexico, Canada, Poland, Hungary, Portugal, Kenya, and so many more.

Overall, students shared food, knowledge, and conversation to create a true Cultural Thanksgiving.
