Club dance

RUMFORD – The snowshoe club will have a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday, Aug. 5, at the club on Waldo Street. It will feature the Tony Belskis Band.

August artist

RUMFORD – Middy Thomas, illustrator of the children’s book, “Gooney Bird Greene,” will be Pennacook Art Center’s featured artist for August.

Her show is titled “Western Impressions.” It will open with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the gallery on 82 Congress St. and run through Aug. 30.

Thomas is an artist and traveler who does sculpture and painting. She will show paintings from her travels in the southwest.
