LEWISTON – The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will offer a workshop on “The Essentials of College Planning” from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the USM Lewiston/Auburn Campus, 51 Westminster St. Call 1-800-281-3703 to register for the free session.

Center services include: assistance in choosing a college, tutoring, personal and financial counseling, career counseling, assistance in applying to college, workplace and college visits and assistance in applying for financial aid.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on July 19 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Mike Quinn and Luke Merry; second, Fred Letourneau and Martine Begert; third, Mary Leahey and Pat Quinn; fourth, Les Buzzell and Nancy Lindgren; fifth, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; tied at sixth, Bill Adams Jr. and Jim Flanagan with Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin.

Flight B winners were: first,- Bill Adams Jr. and Jim Flanagan; second, Bill and Barbara Whitman; third, Richard Balian and Roger Briggs. Flight C winners were: first, Dick Adams and Jim Flanagan; second, Bill and Barbara Whitman. Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 26. A partner is guaranteed.

The club also met on July 20 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Flight A winners were: first, Mike Quinn and Lucille Theriault; second, Martine Begert and Mary Leahey; third, Leslie Buzzell and Misha Tomic; fourth, Ron and Connie Reynolds. Flight B winners were Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner.
