PARIS – Twenty Big Sisters from the Child Health Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program had a special day of caring and esteem-building with their “little sisters” recently.

The day started with lunch and a time for matches to get to know each other. With the help of volunteers from the community, big and little sisters shared an afternoon of crafts and being someone special.

Little sisters had the opportunity to have their hair styled, nails polished and a lesson from a professional about applying make-up. The day was a time for the littles to be pampered and to feel special.

After the matches had their hair, nails and make-up done, Diane Blanchard, case manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters and organizer of the day, took photos of each match, which were placed it in a frame for the girls to take home.

This was the first time Blanchard held a special day just for the big sisters and their littles. A Big Brothers Day is also planned.

Anyone who would like to learn more about becoming a mentor should call Blanchard at 743-0222 or the Child Health Center at 782-5437 in Auburn or 742-7035 in Norway.
