LEWISTON – The Rev. Ted Toppses of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church presented John and Jason Goulet with the Chi-Rho Religious Emblem on April 24.
The Chi-Rho is awarded by the Greek Orthodox Church to Webelo Scouts of the Orthodox faith upon completion of various activities prescribed by the Eastern Orthodox Council on Scouting to teach and strengthen the Orthodox faith.
This is the second religious emblem that John and Jason have received – the first was the St. George Emblem, which they received as Cub Scouts. Representing Pack 160 were Elaine Fenderson, den leader for the Webelos, and Randy Small, Cub master. Also present was their brother, Raymond, who earned his Chi-Rho Emblem in 2002.
John and Jason are the children of Ronald and Jaye Goulet and grandsons of Theresa Goulet, Florentia Mendros and the late Aktouarios Dr. John G. Mendros.
