The title of the book I read was Make Lemonade by Virginia Wolff. This book says that it is hard to live with hardly any money, but you can still make your life better and turn the lemons in your life into lemonade.

An example that shows this is when LaVaughn gets a baby-sitting job for a seventeen year old mother named Jolly, and she sees how Jolly is struggling to make ends meet for her two children. Jolly has just gotten fired from her job for an incident that was not her fault and now it is just her and her children in their messy house, until LaVaughn comes along. LaVaughn is just fourteen and is no longer receiving pay for her baby-sitting service, but she stays out of the goodness of her heart. She wants to help Jolly, and is trying to make it possible for her to attend school again. With this help, Jolly gets back in school to get her education. Also, since Jolly has two kids that she didn’t mean to have, they have never had proper attention or health care. LaVaughn spends a lot of time with them, and even potty-trains the oldest child, Jeremy. She bathes them and encourages Jolly to get them their shots and check-ups. They even behave better because of the attention. Thirdly, Jolly told LaVaughn a story about a blind woman. She learned this story and really thought about how true it is. It went like this: there was a blind woman with just a tiny bit of money and she went to buy her children a big, juicy orange. Once she had purchased it, a teenager tripped her on purpose and replaced the orange that she dropped with a lemon. She hurried back home without knowing, and when she realized that it wasn’t her juicy orange, she was angry, but then she made sweet lemonade. Jolly could relate to this story and then she realized that she was also turning the lemons in her life into lemonade with the help of LaVaughn.

One reason that I agree with this is because I read the book She Said Yes. It is about how one girl has serious problems with thoughts of suicide. She had a lot of lemons in her life. She was able to turn her life around and got connected with God. Even though she had a lot of lemons at one point, it was like she was a different person because she had a new life that was free of most of her troubles. Also, the book Chicken Soup for the Teenager’s Soul is about how some people have had a hard life and their parents just don’t care anymore. They were still able to make a way for themselves in the world, and have a decent life. In the Tough Stuff section, there was a story about a family of parentless kids and the oldest one had to provide for all of them and they lived on the street. They were still able to live their life and make it in the world. They did the best they could and were able to try to turn their lemons into lemonade. This proves that anyone can make their life more worthwhile if they have faith and try to make things better for themselves.

I would definitely recommend this book to someone because it shows how life can be hard sometimes, but you have to try to make things better. It is very interesting and makes you think about how tuff it is for some people in the world.
