OQUOSSOC – The Rangeley Region Guides’ and Sportsmen’s Association will meet Thursday, Nov. 18, at the clubhouse on Old Skiway Road. The evening will begin with a potluck meal. All are welcome to bring a main dish, salad or dessert.

Gull Pond resident Victor Borko showed slides of his ventures into the outback of Alaska at the October meeting. A show of hands revealed that half of his audience had been to many of the same Alaskan sites.

In the business portion of the meeting, Vice President Rusty Harvey updated members on proposed goals for the coming year. They will be finalized in November.

Thelma Thomas shared a certificate of appreciation handed out at the first annual sponsor appreciation dinner held at the Bryant Pond campus of the Maine Conservation School.

Executive Director Scott Olsen thanked the club for support of their programs. Each year the association provides two camperships to local youngsters interested in a hands-on conservation experience.

Members were reminded that board of directors meetings are open to all. They are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse. Call any director to verify the date and be put on the agenda.
