NORTH WATERFORD – The Rev. George Frobig will conduct an evening vesper service at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at the North Waterford Church (UCC). Special music will be provided by soloist Cindy Stafford.

Regular Sunday worship services are being held at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Sunday school also meets at 10 a.m. Youth group meets at 3:30 p.m. on Mondays at the North Waterford church vestry, located off Routes 35 and 37.

Also on Sunday, the Oxford County United Parish will meet at 11:30 a.m., following the church service, at the North Waterford church vestry.

Frobig reminds everyone that the second and fourth Sundays of each month will be a casual, more informal service.

The church choir rehearses at 7 p.m. Mondays at the home of choir director and organist, Marjorie Kimball, on Sawin Hill Road. The choir is beginning to prepare music for the Advent season and welcomes anyone interested in singing with the choir. Contact Kimball at 583-4408.

Sunday service

PARIS – The Rev. Richard Trudeau will lead the 10 a.m. worship service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., on Sunday, Nov. 14.

Trudeau is one of the founders of the New Massachusetts Universalist Convention, an organization whose purpose is to preserve and acclaim the heritage and ministry of the Universalist Church.

The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. The Sunday school will be in session under the direction of Renee Wales. Child care is provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.

Trout Unlimited

NORWAY – The Mollyockett Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold a social meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Trolley House Restaurant on Main Street.

The free program will begin at 7 p.m. featuring Bob Hatch, master guide and local humorist, showing and discussing his film, “Fly Fishing Close to Home.” It was the film featured at chapter’s booth at the Fryeburg Fair.

Bridge tourney

NORWAY – The local ACBL affiliated club, Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge, held its club championship on Friday, Nov. 5, with the following results: first, Woody Mercier and Carol Curran; second, Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements; third, Les Buzzell and Marianne Avery. Jim Dickens and Eleanor Griffin also placed in this special event.

All bridge players are invited to join the group at 9 a.m. Fridays at the Fare Share Coop Building, 445 Main St. Parking and entrance are behind the building. Those wishing more information should call Mimi Bell at 743-8081.

Holiday meal

OXFORD – Grace Fellowship Church extends an invitation to anyone who may be spending Thanksgiving day alone or may be in a financial situation that prevents them from affording a meal.
