BRIDGTON – Bridgton Public Library is planning a busy summer season with many programs, activities, several special events – and lots of new materials – for every member of the family. Among the summer’s highlights are the following:

June 22: Children’s Summer Reading Program begins.

June 23: Adult Summer Book Discussion Series begins.

June 30: Charlie Who’s Little Theater at Large.

July 3: annual Spaghetti Feast at Bridgton Academy.

July 4: Four-On-The-Fourth Road Race, library children’s float.

July 6: “Wildflowers of Maine.”

July 7: Summer Book Discussion Series.

July 13: Meet-the-Author, Mary Cowan, “A History of Logging in New England.”

July 14: Scavenger Hunt at Stevens Brook Trail.

July 20: “Trees of Maine.”

July 21: Summer Book Discussion Series.

July 28: Drum-making workshop with Lynn Osterberg.

Aug. 3: Meet-the-Authors, Twain Braden and Skip Strong, “In Peril”; Marcus Gale, Storyteller and Singer.

Aug. 4: Summer Book Discussion Series.

Aug. 9: Hike at Holt Pond.

Aug. 11: Children’s Summer Reading Program Party with Storyteller Pete Wilson.

Aug. 18: Summer Book Discussion Series.

Friday is a special day at Bridgton Library. Mother Goose Time for babies and toddlers is held at 10:30 a.m., followed at 11 by Story Time and Crafts for ages 3 and up.

From July 2 to Sept. 3 there will be a concert of live music on the front lawn every Friday from noon to 1 p.m. Watch for further details on these and other events or pick up a schedule at the library.

Bridgton Public Library is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
