WASHINGTON, D.C. – Karen L. Corrie and her team of four from American University Washington College of Law took first place in the Niagara Cup International Moot Court Competition at Loyola University Chicago School of Law March 19-20.
The competition brought together teams from Canadian and American law schools to argue an issue dealing with international law. Corrie is a second-year law student at the Washington College of Law.
Along with her teammate Craig Stanfield, Corrie also won the prize for best respondent in the competition. Corrie also came in second for best oralist in the competition.
Corrie received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University, graduating cum laude in 2002 with a degree in political science. She grew up in Lewiston and is the daughter of John and Rebecca Corrie.
While at the Washington College of Law, Corrie has been involved with the Human Rights Impact Litigation Clinic. This summer she will work for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in New York City.
