AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a workshop on Writing Skills for Improved Communication from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4. The cost is $55 and includes materials, certificate of completion and .3 CEU’s.
Participants will learn how to identify the purpose of a document, how to identify the audience and how to organize and present information to emphasize main ideas. Participants will also learn how to apply technical writing principles to letters, reports, e-mails and proposals.
“In written communication, it is extremely important to be clear and concise. You want the reader to quickly understand your message without having to read lengthy text.” said Laurie Tannenbaum, who will teach the workshop. “With improved writing skills, you will be able to provide better service to clients, customers and employees.”
Tannenbaum has more than 12 years of experience as a senior-level technical writer and earned her master’s degree of science and communication management from Simmons College in Boston.
