TURNER – SAD 52 Adult and Community Education announces the following classes through May:

Reflexology: Class from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, at the Adult Learning Complex. Dress comfortably and be willing to work with a partner. Bring water to drink and an open mind.

Snakes, Frogs and Lizard Workshop: Kindergarten through grade five students can learn the different kinds of reptiles and amphibians through slide shows, videos and hands-on experience on Saturday, May 1. Instructor is Rema Lee Weston. Parents are welcome.

Hunter and Gun Safety: The state will offer an opportunity to prepare for a certificate in hunter safety. David Harrington will be the instructor for the course, which will begin Tuesday, May 4, at Leavitt Area High School. Children have to be at least 10 and those under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. State law requires that anyone who has not held a previous hunting license must take hunter safety. It means 12 mandatory hours are required to be certified.

Antiques and Collectibles: Kathy Waller and colleagues invite the public to bring two antique items they have collected, inherited or found to be appraised on Tuesday, May 4, at the Adult Learning Complex.

Herbs: Learn how to grow herbs in the home and garden on Thursday, May 6, at the Adult Learning Complex. Instructor Barbara Stewart will share tips on starting seeds, transplanting seedlings and harvesting herbs.

ATV Safety: Prepare for a certificate in ATV safety on Saturday, May 8. Participants have to be at least 10. Anyone under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. David Harrington will cover ATV safety features, land use regulation and Maine law pertaining to ATV use. The class is open to everyone over age 10.

Driver Education with Karen’s Driving School: The fourth series of driver education classes will begin Monday, May 10. Students must be 15 on the first day of class. There will be 30 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of driving.. To register, call 783-7483.

Golf for Beginners: A six- week course beginning Thursday, May 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. will be held at Springbrook Golf Course in Leeds. Al Biondi, golf pro, will teach the basic golf swing and participants will develop their own style. They will also learn the different clubs and when to use them; plus have the opportunity to play on the green.
