PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter of the AARP, friends and families will take a one-day tour to the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland and the Maine State Museum in Augusta on June 24.
The bus will arrive in Rockland at 10 a.m. where the group will be given a guided tour of a special exhibit of the paintings of Alan Magee, well known Maine artist. They will also tour the Wyeth Center to experience the art of three generations of the Wyeth family – N.C., Andrew and Jamie. There will be time to enjoy other museum exhibits and to visit the museum gift shop and some of the shops on the main street in Rockland.
After lunch at Dave’s Restaurant in Rockland, the bus will travel to Augusta to the Maine State Museum located near the State House. The museum contains exhibits depicting Maine’s natural environment, prehistory, social history and manufacturing heritage. There is also a display of gems and minerals found in Maine and an exhibit of glass.
The cost is $46 and includes the bus, lunch and museum fees. Non local chapter AARP members add $2. Departure time is 7:30 a.m. from the old Ames Plaza, returning at 6 p.m.

Dates for other trips include Mt. Washington Hotel, May 11 (five seats left); Moosehead Lake cruise, Aug. 24; whale watch, Rye, N.H., Sept.11; Balsams, Oct. 6; and the NYC weekend, Dec. 3 to 5.
