BUCKFIELD – WMTW Channel 8 Chief Meteorologist Russ Murley will be giving a special performance and presentation at Buckfield Jr./Sr. High School at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, April 16.

Murley will be playing percussion and accompany Buckfield Music Department students on two compositions by the England-based progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. Murley and Michael Prescott’s mutual appreciation of this band was the reason for this musical choice. In addition to this, they felt that this was an opportunity to expose many students to music that they may otherwise never hear.

This will be the second year that Murley has visited Buckfield Jr./Sr. High School and collaborated with the Buckfield Music Department. In addition to the musical performance, Murley will engage the students in a discussion regarding his role as chief meteorologist at WMTW Channel 8.

He will be available after school for a short while to work with students who are interested in choosing a carreer in science or would like to get some tips on percussion.
