RUMFORD – The Lufkin Museum in the former Lufkin School in Rumford Center will be open each Saturday in August and through the first Saturday in September. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 200 people visited the Rumford Historical Society’s museum during last Saturday’s country fair. Anyone who visited there and found it overly crowded might like to visit again to browse in a more quiet setting.

Everyone is welcome to see the exhibits that show what life was like in years past. New this year is the exhibit of the indoor “outhouse.” The area was cleaned this year and gives an example of rougher living.
