LEWISTON – The speaker at the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club meeting at noon Thursday, Feb. 19, will be Congressman Michael Michaud.

The session will be held at the Ramada Inn.

Anyone interested in hearing Michaud or in knowing more about Rotary is invited. The cost of the luncheon is $7.

Student to talk

POLAND – The Poland Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Old Schoolhouse next to the Town Office.

Before the business meeting a student from Poland Regional High School will present a brief talk on “Speak,” the book chosen for the Community Read, which the high school is sponsoring.

Following the business meeting there will be refreshments, followed by the viewing of a tape on historical places in Poland. The public is welcome.

OES exchange

LEWISTON – Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will host the All New England, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Grand Family Exchange at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Kora Temple, 11 Sabattus St.

Dinner will be served at noon by Lewiston Assembly 14, Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and the advisers.

All Eastern Star members are welcome.

Family fun day

LEWISTON – An early childhood education class at Andover College will hold a Family Fun Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Multi-Purpose Center.

Music will play through out the afternoon, and food and drinks will be provided. Games and activities and children’s shows and cartoons will be offered all day.

There will be raffles for items ranging from baseball cards to DJ services. Sponge Bob will be there to meet and greet the kids.

All proceeds will benefit the Good Shepherd Food Bank. Admission is free; a donation of a nonperishable food item is requested.

87th birthday

LEWISTON – Bill Meroff of Lisbon Falls celebrated his 87th birthday in the violin section of the Androscoggin Valley Community Orchestra at the Dec. 12 Messiah Sing-Along at St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston.

During intermission, the orchestra, the Androscoggin Chorale and audience sang “Happy Birthday” and shared birthday cake with Meroff.
