HARTFORD – The Hartford Women’s Association is holding a regular sale of good winter clothing at the Hartford Clothing Center on Church Street from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. As a new feature, filled mystery bags will be available for 50 cents each. All proceeds are used for charitable purposes.
Finnish music
BERLIN, N.H. – The Maine Kanteles will entertain with their traditional Finnish lap harps, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, at the Community Arts Center, 155 Emery St.
Eleven women perform on the instruments and will sing in Finnish and English. The concert is presented as part of the Northern White Mountain Chamber of Commerce Winterfest Celebration. Advance tickets for $8 are available from the Chamber of Commerce office on Main Street. Tickets at the door are $10.
Grange program
WEST PARIS – A valentine program was presented by Lecturer Eloise Collette at a meeting of West Paris Grange 298 on Feb. 5. Songs were sung and a trivia game was played. Home-made valentines were judged as follows: Prettiest, Anna Swan; most original, Russell Yates; most traditional, Amy Andrews; original artwork, Bertha DeHaas. Mystery march winners were Russell Yates, Betty Bragg and Andy Dewing. Members voted to exhibit at Waterford, Oxford County and Fryeburg fairs.
