LEWISTON – The National Association of Insurance Women – Androscoggin Valley, as well as six other associations within the state will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Lewiston Armory on Central Avenue. The group will continue the yellow ribbon project, tying a yellow ribbon for each soldier as he leaves Maine for active duty in the Middle East.

Rebekah meeting

AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will hold a social meeting at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home, 85 Caron Lane (formerly Fairview Avenue. The meeting replaces the regular meeting that normally takes place on the first Monday of the month at the Odd Fellows Hall, 50 Elm St. Anyone interested in learning more about a Rebekah meeting and the home is welcome. After the meeting games will be played and refreshments served. The next meeting will be held on Jan. 19 at the Odd Fellows Hall.

Seniors to meet

NEW GLOUCESTER – The New Gloucester Remember When Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Amvets Hall. There will be a raffle and members should bring a bag lunch. The club met on Dec. 2 for a Christmas party. Door prizes were won by Shirley Montgomery and Flo Webber.

LEWISTON – The Androscoggin Volunteer Association will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Bates College, Chase Hall, Skelton Lounge. La Leche League

AUBURN – Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to a meeting of La Leche League at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are welcome. Discussion will focus on the advantages of breastfeeding for mother and baby. For more information, call 782-6645.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Dec. 30 were: first, Rosemarie Goodwin and Les Buzzell; second, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; third, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; fourth, first in B, Lucille Bilodeau and Roger Briggs; second in B, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer.

Games are played every Tuesday at 9 a.m. and at Schooner Estates on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. A partner is guaranteed for all games. Call Goodwin at 783-1734 for more information.

The next games will be STAC (Sectional Tournament At Clubs) games and all awarded points will be silver. All players are welcomed with or without a partner.
