NORWAY – The Second Congregational Church of Norway will be celebrating the New Year from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3. This is open for children from 4 years of age up to sixth grade. There will be baking, crafts, games and a “dropping of the ball” at 3:30. All children are welcome.
Youth challenge
LEWISTON – Front-Line-Promotions in association with His Place Teen Center will present Youth Challenge 2004, “A Call to Purity” True Love Waits Campaign, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3., at Lewiston Middle School, Central Avenue.
A True Love Waits big screen presentaion and message will be delivered by Dottie Perham-Whittier from Be Real Ministries, along with two Christstian bands, Paid in Full and King Pin Wrecking Crew.

Conservation
PARIS – The Paris Conservation Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Town Office meeting room. The public is invited to participate. The commission is seeking more members to make up the board and provide ideas. Plans are being worked on for the spring and summer.
Society election
FRYEBURG – Officers and board members will be elected at a meeting of the Fryeburg Historical Society at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the American Legion Hall on Bradley Street. A game will be played with prizes awarded. For more information, call the Nancy Ray at 935-4192.
Indoor archery
EAST OXFORD – The next indoor archery practice will be held Wednesday, Jan. 7, and will continue weekly on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. The event is being held at the Lake Thompson Fish and Game Clubhouse.

Extension speaker
FRYEBURG – Members of the Fryeburg Homemakers Extension will meet at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Legion Hall on Bradley Street. A business meeting will be held at 9.
Ann Hamilton, Extension educator of Carroll County, will discuss identify fraud. There will be a potluck luncheon and the hostesses for the month, Nancy Dighello and Ev Murphy, will provide dessert and coffee. Members are reminded of the food basket.
